The drain pump (model # wm2487hrm)

My husband and I referenced your step-by-step video, it was outstandingly detailed! We received the part within 2 days. I do want to point out, the hose for draining the machine was totally clogged. I suspected that when I ordered the drain pump, since not 1 drop of water came from the house. I had to drain the machine via filter. All-in-all, it took ~1.5 hours to repair....had to keep referencing the video. Your detailed video was the deciding factor for ordering the part from your site. Thanks again!

The Drain Pump Motor is an OEM replacement part for LG washing machines that is responsible for removing water from the washer at the end of the wash cycle. The pump forces water out through the drain hose so that clothing comes out free of excess water, making the drying process faster.

Symptoms of a failing Drain Pump Motor include:

  • Water not draining out of the washing machine
  • Noisy or unusual sounds coming from the pump area during the drain cycle
  • The washing machine stopping mid-cycle

Causes of a bad Drain Pump Motor can range from obstructions in the pump or hose, which can strain or damage the motor, to wear and tear from regular use leading to motor failure. Electrical issues can also affect the motor's performance, preventing it from operating correctly.

This OEM LG part can also be used on Kenmore/Sears appliances.

The Rear Tub Gasket is a crucial OEM Replacement Part, playing a key role in maintaining the water-tight integrity of your LG washer. Made of durable black plastic, the gasket measures approximately 3-1/4 inches in diameter. Its function is to form a watertight seal between the rear tub and the drive shaft of your washing machine. Over time, due to regular wear and tear, the gasket may become damaged or lose its ability to form a reliable seal. This can potentially lead to water leaks from your washer.

To prevent this, it's advisable to replace a worn-out gasket promptly. It's recommended that you disconnect the washer from both water and power sources before embarking on this repair. This component is sourced directly from the manufacturer and is compatible with select LG and some Sears/Kenmore washing machines.

18% of the time Gasket

Replaced door gasket in LG washer.

It was easy to determine the correct gasket from this website. Ordered the part and it arrived faster than expected. Using YouTube videos as a guide, we had a good idea of how to accomplish the replacement. Definitely advise having the spring stretching tool as that makes the job go a lot easier. Saved about $150 doing the repair ourselves - the entire process took about 1 hour.

The LG front load washer door boot seal gasket is an OEM replacement part responsible for providing a watertight seal between the door and the drum of an LG front load washer. The gasket is located around the opening of the washer drum. It creates a barrier that prevents water from leaking out during the wash cycle and ensures that the washer operates efficiently without any water leakage.

The LG gasket can also be used on Kenmore/Sears appliances.

This part fixes the following symptoms:

  • Water leaking from the washer door during a wash cycle
  • Visible cracks or tears on the gasket
  • Mold or mildew growth on the gasket

18% of the time Tub to Pump Hose

Water leak.

I actually didn't need the part. Upon opening the top of the washer, I found a short 1/4" rubber hose laying loose on top of the tub, with some water trapped in the plastic strength moldings of the tub. Nearby was an upright plastic nipple. I shoved the hose back onto the nipple, and have run multiple loads with zero leaking. I will still keep the Tub to Pump Hose that I bought because for the money, it's not bad to have on hand in case it does start leaking in the future. Plus, the disassembly videos from Appliance Parts Pros are so helpful!

The tub to pump hose was leaking

I replaced it with a part from Appliance Pros. I watched the video on how to change it. It was informative. However I didn't need to remove the front or top of the washer to replace the hose. A long set of needle nose pliers made it unnecessary. The back panel was all I removed. Works like new, thanks again Pros.

Water leakage

Our washer had been leaking from the underside for a few days and I thought this was the proper part. I helped my dad move the washer and we opted to lay it on its side to access the bottom. There are many videos on how to access this part but this seemed the easiest way since we are novices. The part fit perfectly but it turns out this wasn't what was causing the issue. Overall it was still worth changing the part anyway.

Leaking by drain pump area.

The washer was leaking from the drain pump area, a lot, like a quart of water over a cycle. My problem ended up being the drain pump itself. So this hose was replaced as a preventative measure since it's a common failure point.

Water leaking at the bottom front of our LG washer your video said this hose is most likely the cause.

I first watched your very informative video on replacement of the hose I purchased from you folks. I didn't need to remove the rear panel as I was able to reach through once the front panel and control switch panel were removed. I have a hose clamp tool used for automotive applications that worked great for removing and reinstalling the spring style clamps..Wife started a load of laundry, so we'll know shortly if the leak is gone...fingers crossed..

The Tub to Pump Hose is an OEM replacement part for LG top-load washing machines. This hose safely transports water between the wash tub and drain pump. The hose measures 13 inches in length.

Causes of failure relate to constant flexing under water pressure strains that accumulate over years of usage. Excess minerals in hard water areas promote accelerated breakdown of flexible PVC material.

Symptoms of a cracked or leaking tub to pump hose include:

  • Water not draining or taking an abnormally long time
  • Water continually accumulating inside the machine cabinet
  • Error codes related to drainage issues displayed
  • Puddles forming near or under the back of the washer

This genuine LG hose is also compatible with select Sears/Kenmore units as well.

The LG drain hose assembly is an OEM replacement part responsible for allowing the removal of wastewater from the washing machine during the drain cycle. This part is located at the rear of the washer, connected to the washing machine's pump and drain outlet. The drain hose ensures that the dirty water and detergent are efficiently carried away from the washer's drum, preventing water accumulation and allowing for proper cleaning and rinsing of the laundry. It ensures that wastewater is effectively disposed of, enabling the washer to complete each cycle successfully.

This LG part can also be used on Kenmore/Sears appliances.

This part fixes the following symptoms

  • Leaks or water pooling around the washing machine during use
  • The washing machine failing to drain properly, leaving clothes soaking wet
  • Blockages or clogs in the hose, preventing the smooth flow of wastewater
  • Reduced washing machine performance and laundry quality
