35% of the time Heating Element

Dryer heating element

I got on your website and saw it had a box( talk to a rep)...so i did.. the rep was very helpful with my parts order and help finding the ID plate on my dryer. After ordering the part I was told between 2 and 5 days..it was here in 2 days! After 15 minutes the dryer was up and running, and as they say happy wife happy life. Thanks again ,If I ever need any more parts or help online I will know where to go.

Electric dryer wasn't heating whirlpool ultimate care ii

One of the contributors to your website walked me through how to test for continuity on the various components of the heating can. After testing, the heating element failed and I immediately ordered a new one from your website. Your website had the lowest price for the heating element, and for a reasonable shipping charge, the party was delivered the following day. I installed the party but the dryer still didn't heat. I then did some additional reading online and found out that sometimes one of the 110 circuits would trip, resulting in the dryer starting up and the motor turning, but still not be able to get heat. I reset the 220 breaker and started the dryer up again, and to my absolute relief, the dryer heated up. I am very appreciative of this site. It has all the parts you could ever need, shows pictures and explanations for each part, and even comes with a how to video. The prices are the lowest, and the forums are the icing on a great big cake. By the way, I wanted to give a shout out to brobriffin. He was instrumental in walking me through this process, and we even began texting each other, where he gave additional guidance, as well as sending various videos and pics to help give me a visual of what he was explaining to me. All in all, appliancepartspros will be my go to website when I need appliance guidance. Thank you, Richard Lucey

No heat when running kenmore electric clothes dryer

Checked continuity of heating element and found open coil and ordered part, heating element received in two days, installed heating element which was a perfect fit and everyone is happy drying their laundry.

Not drying clothes

Appliance shop tested all electronic parts and said they were all fine. I disagreed. I replaced thermostat, thermal fuse and finally the heating element. Then I cleaned out the coil-type dryer duct, and now it's as good as new. I plan to replace coil duct with metal later.

The Heating Element is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool dryers. This part is responsible for generating the heat necessary to dry clothes efficiently. The heating element works by electrically heating a coil or a wire to a high temperature when power is applied, radiating heat throughout the dryer drum to evaporate water from the clothes.

Causes for the heating element to fail can vary but often include overloading the dryer, which restricts airflow and can cause the element to overheat and burn out. Another common cause is age; over time, the constant heating and cooling can lead to metal fatigue and eventual failure of the element. Additionally, poor ventilation and lint buildup can cause the dryer to overheat, damaging the heating element.

Symptoms of a bad heating element include:

  • Taking a long time to dry clothes or not drying completely
  • No heat produced by the dryer during cycles
  • Tripped circuit breaker or blown fuse after drying

Note: has 2-5/16" male terminals.

This OEM Whirlpool part can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.

Dryer wouldn't start

After a couple hours of internet searches, I deducted that it had to be one of four parts. However with the parts i needed, if I replaced one , wisdom was to replace all four of them. So I ordered my parts form the dealer except for the Thermal fuse because they were out of stock. I stumbled across AppliancePartsPros.com accidentally. I will say that one the part was very affordable. Secondly, It arrived before the manufacturer's parts I ordered the day before. The repair was very easy and literally took no more than 15 minutes. I would recommend AppliancePartsPros.com to anyone that wants to save themselves the high cost of having a repair person come out. The parts are quality, the shipping is fast, and the website is easy to use.

Clothes dryer was running with no heat

Looked up the most common causes online. Used a multimeter tool to check the circuits and found the thermal fuse was blown. Ordered the part from Appliance parts Pros. It was cheaper and arrived faster than the company who makes the dryer. 5 minute job, will order another fuse to have on hand.

The Thermal Fuse is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool dryers. This easy-to-install thermal cut-off is designed to shut down your dryer when temperatures become too high, protecting the appliance from overheating. It's a one-time fuse, meaning it cannot be reset and needs to be replaced. It can be tested for continuity with a multimeter.

Causes of Bad Thermal Fuse

  • Excessive lint buildup in the dryer vent
  • Poor air flow causing overheating
  • Failing to clean out the lint filter regularly
  • Faulty heating element or drying cycle thermostat

Don't let a faulty dryer leave you stranded with wet clothes! Replace your dryer's Thermal Fuse to get back to using your dryer worry-free. This OEM Whirlpool part can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.

14% of the time Thermal Cut-Off Kit

Clothes dryer wasn t heating

Preface: I have never done anything like this before. My ten year old Whirlpool dryer (electric) ran perfectly except that it suddenly stopped heating. I went on youtube and your website, watched a few videos and thought to myself "I can probably do this." I ordered a thermal fuse via your instant chat feature which proved to be a mistake. As soon as it arrived I knew it didn't look like the part I needed so I called AppliancePartsPros.com and learned that the part I needed was actually called a thermal cut-off. It arrived in a couple of days and was installed in about ten minutes. I am happy to report that with your help the dryer in running like new. Thank you.

Dryer quit drying

As on previous occasions, got online with Appliance Parts Pro and easily & quickly learned how to determine the problem, find the parts needed, how to remove the failed part and how to install its replacement. Hard to believe how convenient and efficient this company is.

No heat

I bought those parts tuesday they were here thursday morning had my dryer working great by noon thursday.

Whirlpool dryer wouldn't heat

I found your website with complete detailed instructions for troubleshooting the dryer. After I identified the problem, I was able to watch the video showing the repair and then order the part. Easy as pie, and I knew nothing about dryers. Your website saved me a bundle on technician labor fees.

Dryer was working but there was no heat

I was new to these repairs and not very skilled with the multi-meter. The thermal cut off switch was bad.

Simple diagnosis, checked for open heating coil, was ok, then checked and found open thermostat. Easy to replace.

This thermal cut-off kit is an authentic OEM replacement part for Whirlpool dryers. It is designed to prevent the dryer from overheating.

Made of metal. Both components are mounted on the heater housing. They measure approximately 2 inches long and 1.5 inches wide each. If the thermal cut-off fuse has gone out, the dryer will not function but replacing it using the components in this kit is simple.

This Kit Includes:

  • High Limit Thermostat (250°F Limit)
  • A Cut Off Fuse (309°F Limit)
  • Female Spade Terminals
  • Jumper Wires

It is important to note that a plugged lint screen, something stuck in the exhaust vent, or a broken blower wheel can cause the thermal cut-off to fail or become damaged.

12% of the time Cycling Thermostat

Clothes dryer not drying completely

Replaced cycling thermostat, but note that with some Kenmore dryers, virtually all repairs can be made from the front, without pulling the dryer away from the wall and disconnecting the exhaust vent. Many of the U-Tube videos show Kenmore dryers that require repairs be made from the rear. I pulled mine out needlessly.

My Whirlpool dryer does not go to high enough temperature.

I searched for the solution on online, and arrived at the part of Dryer Cycling Thermostat broken. I reviewed the video of "how to fix it." When the part arrived in time promised, I followed it. And It's done. It works good.

On the automatic dryer high heat cycle. Machine would shut off but clothes were still damp but on the timed drying high heat the clothes would dry- if the correct time was set.

Went to AppliancePartsPros.com and chose the best match for my problem with their troubleshooting solutions. Because the heat was available and the timer worked in the Timed Drying High Heat cycle, the best guess was the Cycling Thermostat. I ordered it, checked out the installation video, and it arrived a few days later. Meanwhile, we just used the manual cycle. The most repair time was moving the washer out of the way and disconnecting the dryer hose to access the back of the dryer. I unplugged the dryer (was not hard-wired) and the back of the dryer came off just like the video. Vacuumed up all the accumulated dust in the area. Rather than unplug the four wires and then remove the old part with one screw, I removed the wires one at a time and installed them on the new part, then removed the old part, and then installed the new part with one screw. Plenty of flexibility to do that, took about one minute. Put the back of the dryer on (in the reverse order) and reconnected the hose, plugged it back in. Tested it a couple of days later when we had a wash load, worked perfect. Thanks, AppliancePartsPros.com. I figure we saved ourselves $1,200 for a $12 part.

The dryer temperature was too hot no matter where the temperature on the dial was set at

I replaced the dryer cycling thermostat. It was a very easy fix, there was only two screws to holding it in place and four wires one on each terminal. I removed the old thermostat first keeping the wires intact, than I installed the replacement thermostat and moved the wires on each terminal keeping them in the same position as the old one.

No heating

Replace the broken thermostat with the new one and plugged in the wires and screw in the screws to hold it in place.

The Cycling Thermostat is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool dryers. It monitors internal temperatures and cycles power to the heating element accordingly. The thermostat ensures the drying air reaches and maintains the optimal heat level selected for fast, effective drying results.

Symptoms of a bad cycling thermostat include:

  • The dryer not heating or heating inconsistently
  • Frequent trips of the circuit breaker
  • Slower than normal drying times
  • Burned clothes due to overheating

Causes of failure may be related to normal wear over time, dust buildup affecting sensor readings, or incorrect thermostat calibration.

This OEM Whirlpool part can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.

5% of the time Hi-Limit Thermostat

My dryer was blowing cool air and not hot to dry my clothes

I went online and saw a video from AppliancePartsPros.com. The gentlemen showed me exactly what I needed to fix my dryer and exactly how to repair it. His directions were so easy to follow. I ordered the parts from AppliancePartsPros website and installed them and my dryer is working better than before. I only spent $91.00 to repair instead of purchasing a new dryer for $699.00. Thank you so much for saving me over $600.00.

Dryer not heating up.

After finding out vent was plugged. Cleaned vent & still no heat, I replaced the hi-limit thermostat because the heating element would come on for a few seconds & shut off not geting up to temp to dry. Seems okay now.

Dryer overheating

Learned it was the Hi-limit thermostat and order one. Absolutely no sweat taking the old one out and putting the new one in. Watch their videos. Nothing to it.

The dryer would not heat.

After watching a video on Youtube, I used a multimeter to test continuity in each of the thermostats. The hi-limit thermostat failed. I ordered the part late one evening with overnight shipping. The part shipped the next day and arrived on time. It took just a few minutes to install the part and start drying clothes again. AppliancePartsPros.com is an EXCELLENT source for parts!

Dyer works but not heating.

Troubleshooting resulted in one of the thermostat ( the high limit) being open. Priced the item at local sources, and the prices were all at least double that of Applianceparts.com Ordered the part, it arrived a couple of day before the scheduled date. Tested the part before installation. Now the machine works as it should. Thanks for being available to assist and especially with lower prices.

The hi limit thermostat is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool brand dryers. It is designed to prevent overheating and keep your appliance running. This 3-wire thermostat is equipped with 1/4" male, 3/16" male, and 1/4" female connectors. It has been designed to operate at a temperature rating of L221 degrees.

The thermostat includes a terminal extension arm for easy installation. This vital component maintains proper temperature by opening at around 250 degrees Fahrenheit. Safety features such as this keep your dryer safe from potential damage.

If you suspect a thermostat malfunction causing your dryer to lose heat, first locate it. The thermostat is located beneath the dryer vent at the back of the appliance. Test the thermostat for continuity at room temperature using a multimeter. If the reading indicates a defective thermostat, replace it.

Timer

The dryer we had did not dry on all but one setting

Since I knew that the heating element worked, I checked the timer. When I dialed it, it didn't seem to have the same clicks it used to. Found the part number and ordered it from Appliance Parts Pros. Part was here the next day. Put it on and now I have a happy wife. Thanks so much.

Dryer wouldn't heat on certain setting.

Replaced timer in about 10 minutes. Watched your video on replacing timer. Video was on point, thank you.

No heat.

After changing thermo fuse and heating element, I ordered the timer. took few minutes to change out and is working great.

Dryer not heating on all settings

Called appliance parts pros and talked to Peggy and with her help and the videos I changed the timer out in about 20 minutes and was good to go. I will definitely use them again.

No heat except when on high heat timed dry cycle.

My dryer worked only on the high heat setting and only when it got to the last few minutes when the dial said no heat - cool down portion at the end of the cycle. Occasionally the timer would not turn off dryer and it would run forever I replaced timer in 10 minutes. Parts came in 2 days, very fast.

Over time, timers can wear out or malfunction due to electrical issues or mechanical wear and tear. If your dryer isn't advancing through the drying cycle, stops mid-cycle, or fails to start, it might be time to replace the timer.

Symptoms of a bad Timer include:

  • The dryer fails to start
  • The drying cycle doesn't advance or stops mid-cycle
  • Clothes are not dried in the time expected
  • The timer knob doesn't move or is stuck

The Lint Screen Housing Foam Seal is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool dryers. It fits around the lint screen and is placed inside the lint filter housing. This ensures the heated air funneled into the dryer drum is free from lint, debris, and moisture.

When this seal fails, it can cause various problems with the dryer's operation. You may notice the buildup of lint inside the dryer vent, which can increase the risk of a fire. The failing seal can also cause the clothes to come out of the dryer wet or damp. Additionally, the clothes may take longer to dry than usual.

Factors that cause a lint screen housing seal to fail include:

  • Frequent overloading of the dryer
  • Natural wear and tear
  • Exposure to high temperatures and humidity

If your dryer's lint screen housing seal starts to fail, it's best to replace it right away.

Felt Drum Seal

Heating element and drum seal

The parts I ordered came quick, the videos were a huge help, parts were fairly priced Great place to order parts from, I'll definitely be coming back to them.

Loosing heat and noisy.

We followed the repair video. We probably couldn't have done it without the video but it was an easy quick repair. We were sorry we hadn't replaced the felt sooner.

Warm air leak so rear felt drum seal needed to be replaced

My son in law and I replaced the seal in about 30 minutes. It would be difficult for one person to do alone, but it was easy with two..

The felt drum seal came off.

Ordered a new one, which came the next day....couldn't believe it..was so happy, put it on and working fine....thank you so very much.

Felt drum seal needed to be replaced.

I try to follow your instructions on the Internet. big problem trying to keep the new seal on drum without the glue with clothes pins. Every time I got to end of seal on drum, it would pop off. Finally, just did a little section at a time, and it worked out.

The Felt Drum Seal is an OEM part for Whirlpool dryers. This part creates a tight seal along the edge of the dryer drum, preventing hot air from escaping and ensuring efficient operation. The felt seal helps to minimize noise and vibration during the drying cycle by cushioning the space between the drum and the dryer body.

Over time, the felt drum seal can wear out, become compacted, or tear, leading to potential issues such as increased drying times, higher energy consumption, and excess noise.

Symptoms of a bad Felt Drum Seal include:

  • Clothes taking longer to dry
  • Unusual noises or increased vibration during operation
  • A visible gap between the drum and the dryer body
  • Excessive lint buildup inside the dryer beyond the lint trap

This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper and some Kenmore models.

Dryer Repair Kit (most 29 Inch Large Capacity Models)

Dryer was squeaking very badly!

I disassembled the dryer, cleaned all the lint out(it was everywhere and I'm surprised it had not caught on fire), sprayed lubricant on the idler pulley and the rollers. Then I put everything back together and used the dryer. It was quiet but, short lived. I bought the "Dryer Repair Kit" from AppliancePartsPros. It had a new belt and idler /tension pulley that I may not have needed but, I thought, "if I'm taking it apart again, I'm replacing everything!" I followed the video instructions and the dryer is now like new. The plastic retaining clips (4) for the rollers were much more difficult to remove and replace than shown in the video. Other than that, everything went EZ PZ. My wife came home at the end of the job and helped me by holding the drum in place while installed the front of the dryer. I don't know if I could have done it alone. I know we saved a bunch by doing ourselves AND.....the parts came in less than 24 hours. I could not have scheduled a repairman in that time.

Broken drive belt

Ordered your repair kit based on my model number. It arrived 2 days later, unfortunately it was short 4 nylon and one metal retainers. I called and was apologized to. The CSR quickly found my order and said a new parts kit would go out to me the same day. I was only looking for the missing parts but was politely told that if a customer has an issue she is there to take care of it. REMARKABLE! The new kit arrived in two days with all the parts and the problem is solved. Incredible service in this "to bad for you society". The video of the repair I was performing was very helpful. I'm very pleased.

Not heating

I ordered the heater element in my Whirlpool Estates dryer, watched the video and had it changed in no time. I also replaced the belt assembly. Appliance Parts Pros delivered!

Dryer Door Switch

Door switch

Watched video and all went ok ,except the lid was very hard to get un-snapped to lift. the directions should include warning to give a clue to apply force .

Dryer would not shut off when the dryer door was opened

That led me to think that the door switch was bad and an ohm meter showed it was bad. The new switch I received from A.P.P. fixed the problem.

Dryer door switch

I Order the switch from Appliance Parts Pro on Sunday. Received part on Tuesday approx 3pm, by 3:15 pm the switch was installed and dryer was working. Fastest service I have ever had. The replacement part was exactly like the one that came out even the same part number, with instruction how to install. When I need appliance parts I will order from this company.

Dryer door switch

My boyfriend ordered it from your website and it arrived in two days with standard s + h. The video helped immensely.

Broken dryer door switch

Easy fix using the instructions. Remove filter, unscrew 2 screws holding filter frame to the lid, popped open the lid, unplug and unscrew old switch, insert new switch, etc. Quick, cheap and easy.

Whirlpool dryer wouldn't start

After taking the back off to see if there was anything obvious, like burnt wires, I noticed that the light in the drum was on. This was like if the door was open. I checked the door switch and the lever was broken off. I ordered the new switch from AppliancePartsPros.com and installed it and the problem was solved. Thanks for being there for me at an affordable price, guys. I will be a return customer and will recommend your company to anyone in need.

Broken dryer door swich

I ordered the part from AppliancePartsPros.com and received it 2 days later. The new part fit perfectly and worked correctly.

Maytag dryer door switch shorted, light wouldn't go on and dryer kept running when door opened

Very easy fix to replace the switch, thanks to the excellent U tube video from appliance pros. Took about 10 minutes. Screwdriver and a putty knife.

Dryer drum stayed on when door opened and light did not come on

Logged onto AppliancePartsPros site, used their trouble shooting guide and BAM. Got the right part at right price, RIGHT NOW. Great service!

The Dryer Door Switch is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool dryers. It is responsible for detecting whether the dryer door is open or closed, allowing the dryer to start or stop depending on the position of the door. A bad dryer door switch can be caused by regular wear and tear or door being slammed. It can also become damaged if there is a buildup of lint or debris around the switch.

Symptoms of a bad dryer door switch include:

  • The dryer not starting or running when the door is closed.
  • The dryer continuing to run even when the door is open.
  • The dryer drum not turning or spinning.
  • The interior light not turning on when the door is open.

This OEM Whirlpool part can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.

Dryer Belt

Broken dryer belt

Replacement belt was very reasonably priced and was shipped super fast! Ordered Sunday and arrived Tuesday afternoon. Repair was very easy. Only required removing two screw on the front dryer plate which then popped right off (Maytag Performa). Dryer drum can be lifted easily to put belt around. Came with a diagram of how to use the tensioner which was helpful. Couldn't actually see what I was doing so had to do it by feel. Was a tight squeeze to get my arm back to the pulley and tensioner but was overall a very simple fix. Dryer works great now.

Dryer drum not turning

Went to your site and viewed it and searched the parts and found he belt. This is my 2nd time using your site and very pleased 100%.

Belt had broken drum was not spinning

Bought a belt and watched the great video on the site that walks you through replacing the belt; worked perfectly, and the dryer is now fixed saving me hundreds!

No heat for the dryer

Just change the thermal fuse, That caused the problem but also changed the other parts to prevent future problems

Dryer drum stopped turning

I ordered a belt from you - which under regular shipping was received in less than 24 hours. With your video & instructions included, the repair was quickly completed. I'm slow - I thought your time estimate was realistic. The additional time was spent cleaning lint. 2 comments on your video: Your video did not say anything about supporting the drum. I did - which seemed to eliminate the need to be concerned about the back drum gasket slipping under a lip.

The Belt is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool dryers. It acts as a transmission to power the drum rotation during the drying cycle. The belt reliably conveys motion from the motor to the drum, ensuring garments are properly tumble-dried.

Symptoms of a bad belt include:

  • The drum not turning or rotating slowly
  • Excessive noise and vibration coming from the dryer
  • The belt slipping off the pulley
  • Discoloration, cracking, or fraying of the belt

Causes of a bad belt can be normal wear and tear over time, overloading the dryer with too many wet items, or structural damage to the belt itself.

This OEM Whirlpool part can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.

Terminal and Wire Kit

Fried terminal block

My daughter moved into a new home. During the move the dryer cord terminal screws somehow went missing and her brother in law substituted regular screws that worked but did not make a secure connection. Eventually after a power outage when power was restored the power surge was more than the substitute screws could handle and it melted some wires. The kit that I ordered made a safe and a properly secured repair. Suzanne took the order and was a tremendous help in getting the correct repair part. Excellent technical and customer support by Suzanne!

The Heater Box is an OEM part for Whirlpool dryers. It houses the heating element that generates the hot air required to dry clothes efficiently. The heater box ensures optimal heat distribution within the dryer, contributing to uniform and effective drying cycles.

Causes of a bad Heater Box include overheating, which can warp or damage the box, restrictions in airflow causing inefficient heating, and physical damage that can compromise the box's integrity.

Symptoms of a bad Heater Box include:

  • Clothes taking longer than usual to dry
  • The dryer operating at higher temperatures than normal
  • Unusual noises during operation, indicating potential airflow or mechanical issues
  • The outside of the dryer becoming unusually hot during cycles

This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper and some Kenmore models.

Dryer Drive Motor

Motor was humming and not running

However, it would run if I gave the motor shaft a spin. Suspected either a starting relay or capacitor. Soon leaned that it integral part of the motor. So I had to replace the motor which fixed the issue.

My whirlpool dryer motor died

I looked at your repair video and ordered the replacement part. The motor arrived quickly and I replaced the motor. Unfortunately the fan broke while removing the old one (this I understood sometimes happens) but was easily replaced as well. I was so proud of my work and the wife was so proud of me. By ordering the parts and doing the work myself I saved hundreds of dollars by not having to buy a new dryer. Repair was also so much better for the environment without having to throw away the old dryer! I am not a repairman and don't have much handy experience but the video made the repair a snap!

Bad dryer moter

Disassembled dryer to get down to the motor. Had to chisel blower wheel off motor. Picked up wheel locally and assembled back together again.

Dryer drive motor

First dryer stopped working. When I went to restart there was a humming noise. I unloaded the dryer. Turned on the dryer and it made a humming noise again but it worked. When I put a load in the dryer it made a humming noise and wouldn't start. I ordered a Dryer motor from AppliancePartsPros.com. I paid for next day delivery. I went back to the website and it has a video showing how to install it. It took about twenty minutes to install the new motor and it worked great! I have used AppliancePartsPros.com also to fix my washer in the past. My appliances are over 21yrs old and work great! Thanks to AppliancePartsPros.com. This last repair cost me $128.00 including next day delivery, instead of a $1,000 dollars for a new dryer. Great Service.

Electric dryer making loud noise and would stop running after only a few minutes.

I replaced the dryer motor and blower fan. The blower fan had to be chiseled off the dryer motor shaft. Would suggest anyone replacing the dryer motor on an older dryer to order a blower fan ($20) with the motor just in case it won't screw off the motor shaft. If you don't need the blower fan simply return it for a refund.

The Dryer Drive Motor is an OEM part for Whirlpool dryers. This motor is the heart of the dryer, responsible for turning the drum and enabling the air to circulate properly throughout the machine.

Over time, dryer motors can suffer from wear and tear due to continuous use, accumulation of lint and debris, or overload from heavy laundry loads. These factors can lead to the motor overheating, losing power, or failing to start altogether.

Symptoms of a bad Dryer Drive Motor include:

  • The dryer not starting when the start button is pressed
  • Unusual noises, such as humming or buzzing
  • The dryer stopping unexpectedly during cycles
  • A burning smell coming from the dryer

This OEM Whirlpool part can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.

Blower Wheel

Dryer fan blower wheel broke loose from motor shaft making loud noise and preventing the dryer from drying properly

Replaced the fan. It required the complete dismantling of the dryer, but it wasn't difficult and the repair went well. (Watched a video on You Tube). But it took a little too long to get the part (8 days).

Fan broke on dryer.

Took the entire dryer apart and watched a video on how to do it.. Took us about 25 mins and the dryer works like new. So happy!!!!

The blower wheel was broken

I watched a repair video on how to replace the wheel. There was a link provided to order the replacement part. It was shipped and arrived in 3 days.

Growling and overheating motor.

First I had to replace the motor, however, as an ex professional Repair Technician, I happen to know that quite often, it is very difficult (if not impossible) to get the blower wheel off of the motor shaft. Especially since the models that use these blower wheels are quite old now (still good though). When this happens, the blower wheel must be chiseled apart to get the motor out. That said, I had to do this and after replacing the motor, it is very easy to spin the new blower wheel on to the motor. I would suggest to anyone changing the motor, to order the blower wheel as well since you may likely need it and won't have your dryer inoperative while ordering more parts.

The OEM Replacement Part is a Blower Wheel, designed for use in specific Whirlpool Dryer models. This 8 5/8" diameter wheel, is crafted to move air through the appliance effectively, utilizing a squirrel cage design. Its main function is to blow air through the dryer drum and out the exhaust, a crucial element in the drying process.

The blower wheel attaches to the motor shaft using left-handed threads and can be removed by unscrewing it clockwise off the motor shaft. It is particularly suitable for 29-inch models with a lint filter on top. This part is compatible with select Whirlpool brand models including Kenmore, and Roper.

The Lint Filter is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool and Maytag dryers. This important safety filter screens out lint and debris from heated air exiting the dryer drum. The filter measures approximately 20 inches in length (excluding the handle) and is 8.5 inches wide.

Symptoms of a clogged or damaged lint filter include:

  • Slow or inefficient drying times
  • Excessive lint visible inside the drum or tubing
  • Warm air detected blowing from gaps around filter
  • Odd smells detected from incomplete combustion

Causes relate to accumulated debris blinding mesh holes despite regular cleaning. Fabric softener residue or dryer sheet plastic films leave behind coatings over time decreasing effectiveness.
