88% of the time Replacement Icemaker

The ice maker stopped working and was in need of replacement

I needed to find the part which was not easy, but with the help of customer support I was able to quickly identify the right part.

Ice maker stopped working

Replaced ice maker. Ordered ice maker kit from AppliancePartsPros and it arrived the next day. Awesome experience.

The ice maker had developed a small leak in the ice tray.

Close inspection of the ice maker showed that the coating on the exterior of the ice tray was cracking allowing water to seep out and run into the ice collection bin. I decided to replace the ice maker since this problem was not repairable. I received the ice maker in about 30 hours from the time I placed the order. Installing the new ice maker took about 10 minutes. After a week of use, the ice maker is working perfectly with no leaks.

Ice maker was dripping following fill

First I replaced the secondary fill valve as directed. That did not change things. Next was told to change primary valve which I ordered but did not install. Instead I read about someone changing ice maker due to dripping following fill. I ordered the ice maker and changed it. Found that the lining of the ice maker was deteriorated and needed replaced.

The icemaker was leaking

I referenced the part number and was able to order from you. The video allowed me to easily swap the parts in about 20 minutes, despite never having done this before. It is making beautiful cubes now! This is my first experience with AppliancePartsPros.com but, I will attempt other repairs with them in the future.

Ice maker would lockup then sometime start working again

Ordered an new ice maker from another source, but one received the fill tube was in wrong spot.. Reordered from AppliancePartsPro and it was exactly the right one. The video on the website made it easy to remove and replace. Started having ice made within 3 hours

Icemaker out

Ordered part and it arrived via FedEx very quickly, maybe 2 days. Installed part and was anxiously awaiting ice. Lo and behold, it made ice within 30 minutes. Yippee! Had used ice trays for a couple of years. Cost good, not overpriced.

Bad ice maker in freezer and bad door seal on refrigerator

I went to Appliance Pros Web site with the make and model number of my refrigerator and easily found the needed parts along with a video on the proper method of installation. I ordered the parts required and received them FedX with two days. The computer research and actual order took approx 15 minutes and the parts arrived quickly. I have used Appliance Pros over the years several times and have never been disappointed. This is a well organized, professional company and has eliminated the hassle of trying to order parts for your appliance in stores that are not equipped with the knowledge or parts needed to complete your job. Ice maker was not working

First we tried the control module after making sure it wasn't the water supply. The control module kept rotating the ice removers without stopping and allowing water to fill tray. After speaking to one of the reps we determined that we needed to replace the whole ice maker. Chris sent me the shipping label to ship back the control module and then we ordered the ice maker. We then ordered the ice maker kit. It came the Next Day! I replaced the whole unit in about 3 minutes and we now have an ice maker again!

Ice maker quit dumping ice

I turned it off, ordered the parts with one-day delivery, turned it on before the delivery, AND it WORKED. Haven't opened the parts yet, but think you are magic. If it continues to work, can I return the unopened box? Thanks Bronson

Icemaker would not make ice.

Installed the motor module kit and it worked for one cycle and then it quite again. Had to remove and disassemble and clean all the contact surfaces. Found the freezer mold lost its coating and needs to be replaced. Assembled it again and installed it in the freezer compartment and it has been working so far until I get a new freezer mold. The video was very helpful and gave good instructions to complete this repair.

3% of the time Water Inlet Valve

I didn't raise the ice cube detection arm to the no water position when i went on vacation

I replaced the solenoid. The part was an exact fit and took longer to get the tools than to replace the part. It works great!

Ice maker over flowing

New solenoid for water control to ice maker. I had a good idea that was the problem but the trouble shooting guide confirmed the problem Thanks for the great help.

No ice in icemaker

I replaced the water inlet valve. I found the video on your site to be essential since my old refrigerator had threaded connectors and the new valve had a (new to me) push-in connector.

Ice make stopped making ice

The ice maker would make ice if I manually filled it; the ejector teeth would turn the ice cubes into the bin, but then the ice maker wouldn't refill with water to start the cycle over again. I ordered a replacement water inlet valve from appliancepartspros.com and followed the straightforward steps in the video to replace the inlet valve in about 15 minutes. As soon as I plugged the refrigerator back in and set the sensor arm on the ice maker down, the tray filled. The ice maker has been working ever since. The cost for a service visit to do this repair was quoted to me at $129, not including parts and labor. The valve cost around $55 plus shipping.

Bad intake valve for ice machine broken. Missing pantry door.

Ordered new parts and pamtry door. Came quickly and easy to replace. Ice maching stopped working. I trouble shooted it down to the intake valve. Again, came quick and easy to replace.

This OEM Replacement Part is a single coil water inlet valve intended for use in refrigerators. The valve serves as a solenoid-operated switch that controls the release of water from the supply line into the ice maker mold when activated. This part is crucial to the proper functioning of the refrigerator's ice-making and water dispensing systems.

If your ice maker is producing small or hollow cubes, failing to dispense ice or water, or if your refrigerator is leaking, this could indicate a restriction in the water inlet valve necessitating its replacement. The valve comes with instructions for installation, and the necessary tools for this repair include a 1/4-inch nut driver and a utility knife. Always remember to unplug your refrigerator from the power source as a safety measure before commencing the repair. Please refer to the manufacturer's diagram for further instructions

Icemaker Cycling Thermostat

Missing thermostat.

The video instructions were easy to follow, and I replaced the thermostat while also replacing the ice mold. It was a two person job at one point because the screws did not align perfectly.

Ice machine isn't producing any ice.

The troubleshooting video didn't help me much because my model is a little different and I couldn't find all of the contact holes. So I guessed that it was the valve as that is where the water and ice machine feeds split, but that wasn't the problem. So next I got the Thermostat and the special metallic putty. Again the tear down was a little different with my ice maker, but I was able to get it replaced. Works great now! Also, during the teardown I found the other contact holes hiding under an L-shaped piece of plastic screwed onto the front face.

The ice maker stopped.

I ordered a thermostat for the ice maker, (part# WP627985). Upon removing the ice maker and disassembling its cover, evidence of a burned contact inside the unit was clear. So now I have a thermostat I can't use and ordered the Ice Maker Assy. Which I might add is on order.

Ice stopped producing.

Videos on YT showed how to take multimeter readings to check the motor and the Thermistor. The Thermistor readings were high in ohms and not as suggested in the video. So I removed the ice tray and defrosted it and then read the thermistor and it had a reading of 3K ohms by itself so it was not totally open. However, the conductive sealant was minimal. So I ordered the thermistor and when it arrived it had the same 3K ohms reading. I installed it and used a more conductive sealant which makes the temperature transfer between the ice tray and the warming element (which causes ice to be melted for extraction). Put it all back together and hoped for the best that it would make ice again....it did, so I got lucky. The testing of the thermistor was inconclusive. Also, your site should have links to the videos referenced for testing the icemaker.

The icemaker was forming clumps of ice and icicles hanging from icemaker.

Decided it was the icemaker thermostat and bought the replacement here. Replaced it and also used Alumilastic adhesive. No ice clumps or icicles.

Symptoms of a bad icemaker cycling thermostat may include:

  • Inconsistent ice production.
  • The icemaker not cycling properly.
  • The icemaker not dumping the ice into the ice bin.

This OEM Whirlpool part can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.
