Thermal fuse.

Thanks to your video tested the fuse and ordered replaced myself and saved an $80 house call plus more labor to install very pleased with the results Thanks, Cindy

Dryer wouldn't start

After a couple hours of internet searches, I deducted that it had to be one of four parts. However with the parts i needed, if I replaced one , wisdom was to replace all four of them. So I ordered my parts form the dealer except for the Thermal fuse because they were out of stock. I stumbled across AppliancePartsPros.com accidentally. I will say that one the part was very affordable. Secondly, It arrived before the manufacturer's parts I ordered the day before. The repair was very easy and literally took no more than 15 minutes. I would recommend AppliancePartsPros.com to anyone that wants to save themselves the high cost of having a repair person come out. The parts are quality, the shipping is fast, and the website is easy to use.

Clothes dryer was running with no heat

Looked up the most common causes online. Used a multimeter tool to check the circuits and found the thermal fuse was blown. Ordered the part from Appliance parts Pros. It was cheaper and arrived faster than the company who makes the dryer. 5 minute job, will order another fuse to have on hand.

The Thermal Fuse is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool dryers. This easy-to-install thermal cut-off is designed to shut down your dryer when temperatures become too high, protecting the appliance from overheating. It's a one-time fuse, meaning it cannot be reset and needs to be replaced. It can be tested for continuity with a multimeter.

Causes of Bad Thermal Fuse

  • Excessive lint buildup in the dryer vent
  • Poor air flow causing overheating
  • Failing to clean out the lint filter regularly
  • Faulty heating element or drying cycle thermostat

Don't let a faulty dryer leave you stranded with wet clothes! Replace your dryer's Thermal Fuse to get back to using your dryer worry-free. This OEM Whirlpool part can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.

5% of the time Hi-Limit Thermostat

My dryer was blowing cool air and not hot to dry my clothes

I went online and saw a video from AppliancePartsPros.com. The gentlemen showed me exactly what I needed to fix my dryer and exactly how to repair it. His directions were so easy to follow. I ordered the parts from AppliancePartsPros website and installed them and my dryer is working better than before. I only spent $91.00 to repair instead of purchasing a new dryer for $699.00. Thank you so much for saving me over $600.00.

Dryer not heating up.

After finding out vent was plugged. Cleaned vent & still no heat, I replaced the hi-limit thermostat because the heating element would come on for a few seconds & shut off not geting up to temp to dry. Seems okay now.

Dryer overheating

Learned it was the Hi-limit thermostat and order one. Absolutely no sweat taking the old one out and putting the new one in. Watch their videos. Nothing to it.

The dryer would not heat.

After watching a video on Youtube, I used a multimeter to test continuity in each of the thermostats. The hi-limit thermostat failed. I ordered the part late one evening with overnight shipping. The part shipped the next day and arrived on time. It took just a few minutes to install the part and start drying clothes again. AppliancePartsPros.com is an EXCELLENT source for parts!

Dyer works but not heating.

Troubleshooting resulted in one of the thermostat ( the high limit) being open. Priced the item at local sources, and the prices were all at least double that of Applianceparts.com Ordered the part, it arrived a couple of day before the scheduled date. Tested the part before installation. Now the machine works as it should. Thanks for being available to assist and especially with lower prices.

The hi limit thermostat is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool brand dryers. It is designed to prevent overheating and keep your appliance running. This 3-wire thermostat is equipped with 1/4" male, 3/16" male, and 1/4" female connectors. It has been designed to operate at a temperature rating of L221 degrees.

The thermostat includes a terminal extension arm for easy installation. This vital component maintains proper temperature by opening at around 250 degrees Fahrenheit. Safety features such as this keep your dryer safe from potential damage.

If you suspect a thermostat malfunction causing your dryer to lose heat, first locate it. The thermostat is located beneath the dryer vent at the back of the appliance. Test the thermostat for continuity at room temperature using a multimeter. If the reading indicates a defective thermostat, replace it.

4% of the time Heating Element Connecting Wire

My dryer was not heating.

I went on YouTube and looked for this issue. I found an video stating the heating coil might be out and how to test it with a multimeter. I followed the instructions on removing the bottom panel and another piece to get to the heating coil. I had to remove the two leads going to the heating coil. When I went to remove the second one, it just severed, with one end just hanging and the other piece still connected to the heating coil terminal. I removed the wire to have a look and it looked like it burnt or melted. I read online that this could happen if there is a loose connection between the wire and the heating coil terminal. So I knew the wire was definitely the problem or at least part of the problem. I went to the Sears Parts and Service center for the wire and they did not have it. I figured I could try Home Depot or Lowes to get the right gauge wire and the terminals and just make what I needed, but they didn't have the right terminal connector. (There are different size terminal connectors on either end of the wire and Lowes only carried the small one. Same with OSH). At this point I just called a repairman, but decided to keep looking online. Finally when I made my search less specific about my make and model of dryer, I ran across another repair site stating exactly what I was looking at with a link to AppliancePartsPros.com. They had exactly what I needed with a little video showing exactly what I needed to do. I did put a rush on the wire to beat the repairman who was scheduled to come out a week later. I wanted to see if the new wire would fix the issue or if my heating coil was also out. I ordered the wire on Friday expecting to get it on Tuesday because I ordered it after 5PM EST, and it was a weekend, but surprisingly I got it Sunday. I made the repair, turned on my dryer with the cover still off and I was able to see my heating coil light up. I let it run for about 5 minutes and sure enough the dryer was heating up again. It maybe took me 20 - 30 mins to fix, and that was because I needed to cut and strip off the end of the "melted" wire and splice it with the new one. It took a little turning and elbow grease to get the stealth off the "melted" wire. Once that was done, everything went just like the video. The part cost me $5 or $6 bucks, the rush was about $20. Just for the repairman to show up was going to be $89. Needless to say I called off the appointment. I just kept it as a backup in case I couldn't fix it myself. I am extremely happy I found AppliancePartsPros.com.

The heating element wire of my dryer had oxidized and crumbled apart and was no longer connected

I bought a new wire, clipped off the damaged portion of the old one, and tethered the new and healthy portion of the old wire together.

Heating element connection wire was bad

Once I discovered the problem, I went on line, narrowed down the part I needed, watched the repair video and decided to fix it myself. Simple fix, inexpensive part and the entire repair cost a grand total of $15.96. Did I mention I am an over 50 year old woman with no prior experience repairing appliances! Sure beats the cost of replacing with a new or a used dryer. Can you say... S-U-C-C-E-S-S! My ancient Whirlpool dryer now works like a charm!

Dryer was producing no heat.

Looked at videos on youtube on troubleshooting the 'dryer no heat' problem, I opened up the front of the dryer and spotted a broken wire running to the heater element. ( I also checked the heating element just to be sure it was ok and it was ) Ordered part (and got it the next day!!!!! ) and installed it.

Symptoms of a bad Heating Element Connecting Wire include:

  • The dryer not heating up despite having power
  • Intermittent heating, suggesting a loose or faulty connection

3% of the time Thermistor

E 1 error code

Ordered thermister after watching YouTube video. Part arrived in just 2 days. Repair went just as depicted on video. Easy fix. Hoping it corrects the problem.

No heat

Had a power failure when dryer was being used. Dryer was still running but not heating. Used a multimeter to discover that there was no continuity in this part. Ordered the part and received it within 48hrs. Took less than 2 min to replace the part. Praise the Lord, it now works like a charm!

My Cabrio dryer was not getting hot to dry clothes

Per Assistance from AppliancePartsPros I was able to get the Thermister part now my Dryer works great!

No heat with clothes dryer

I watched a couple of YouTube videos on what to do when your dryer won't heat, I then went online to AppliancePartsPros.com, Ordered the parts, installed them, it worked and now I am a hero in my Wife's eyes. Feels great. The service and support I received from AppliancePartsPros.com was absolutely outstanding! Best online experience ever. I can't wait for another appliance to fail and I get to be a hero again (not really). Thanks.

Cycle finished before drying or dryer got too hot!

Replaced the thermistor. Actual time taken was more related to getting bolts back in than anything else. Actual repair was easy with right tools and the how-to videos are outstanding. I am not the handiest person but, with the help of Appliancepartspros.com, I have now fixed both my washer and dryer myself at a much lower cost than calling back the authorized repair guy (who couldn’t fix it for me last time!). I paid less for parts than the cost of a service call. Love this site.

The Thermistor is an OEM part for Whirlpool brand dryers. It is a temperature-sensing resistor that monitors air temperature changes during the drying cycle. The thermistor provides feedback to the control board on heating element performance and internal air condition.

Symptoms of a failed thermistor include:

  • Inaccurate temperature readings and selections
  • Improper or incomplete drying
  • Safety issues from overheating due to lack of feedback
  • Error codes displayed on the control panel

Causes can be related to normal wear and environmental exposure over time. Failure prevents the dryer from achieving optimal drying conditions.

This genuine Whirlpool thermistor replacement restores precise air temperature monitoring. It ensures the control board receives accurate input to effectively regulate heating levels. This OEM Whirlpool part can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.

Terminal and Wire Kit

Fried terminal block

My daughter moved into a new home. During the move the dryer cord terminal screws somehow went missing and her brother in law substituted regular screws that worked but did not make a secure connection. Eventually after a power outage when power was restored the power surge was more than the substitute screws could handle and it melted some wires. The kit that I ordered made a safe and a properly secured repair. Suzanne took the order and was a tremendous help in getting the correct repair part. Excellent technical and customer support by Suzanne!

The Lint Screen Housing Foam Seal is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool dryers. It fits around the lint screen and is placed inside the lint filter housing. This ensures the heated air funneled into the dryer drum is free from lint, debris, and moisture.

When this seal fails, it can cause various problems with the dryer's operation. You may notice the buildup of lint inside the dryer vent, which can increase the risk of a fire. The failing seal can also cause the clothes to come out of the dryer wet or damp. Additionally, the clothes may take longer to dry than usual.

Factors that cause a lint screen housing seal to fail include:

  • Frequent overloading of the dryer
  • Natural wear and tear
  • Exposure to high temperatures and humidity

If your dryer's lint screen housing seal starts to fail, it's best to replace it right away.

Dryer Repair Kit (most 29 Inch Large Capacity Models)

Dryer was squeaking very badly!

I disassembled the dryer, cleaned all the lint out(it was everywhere and I'm surprised it had not caught on fire), sprayed lubricant on the idler pulley and the rollers. Then I put everything back together and used the dryer. It was quiet but, short lived. I bought the "Dryer Repair Kit" from AppliancePartsPros. It had a new belt and idler /tension pulley that I may not have needed but, I thought, "if I'm taking it apart again, I'm replacing everything!" I followed the video instructions and the dryer is now like new. The plastic retaining clips (4) for the rollers were much more difficult to remove and replace than shown in the video. Other than that, everything went EZ PZ. My wife came home at the end of the job and helped me by holding the drum in place while installed the front of the dryer. I don't know if I could have done it alone. I know we saved a bunch by doing ourselves AND.....the parts came in less than 24 hours. I could not have scheduled a repairman in that time.

Broken drive belt

Ordered your repair kit based on my model number. It arrived 2 days later, unfortunately it was short 4 nylon and one metal retainers. I called and was apologized to. The CSR quickly found my order and said a new parts kit would go out to me the same day. I was only looking for the missing parts but was politely told that if a customer has an issue she is there to take care of it. REMARKABLE! The new kit arrived in two days with all the parts and the problem is solved. Incredible service in this "to bad for you society". The video of the repair I was performing was very helpful. I'm very pleased.

Not heating

I ordered the heater element in my Whirlpool Estates dryer, watched the video and had it changed in no time. I also replaced the belt assembly. Appliance Parts Pros delivered!

Dryer making noise

Getting the dryer repair did the trick. Now I have a old dryer that sounds like new. A special to the person who took my order, she suggested the kit for me. Plus the parts were less expensive than from another source.

Dryer was making a lot of noise

Drum support rollers - actually the dryer repair kit came complete with the lock washers support wheels pulley and belt.

Blower Wheel

Dryer fan blower wheel broke loose from motor shaft making loud noise and preventing the dryer from drying properly

Replaced the fan. It required the complete dismantling of the dryer, but it wasn't difficult and the repair went well. (Watched a video on You Tube). But it took a little too long to get the part (8 days).

Fan broke on dryer.

Took the entire dryer apart and watched a video on how to do it.. Took us about 25 mins and the dryer works like new. So happy!!!!

The blower wheel was broken

I watched a repair video on how to replace the wheel. There was a link provided to order the replacement part. It was shipped and arrived in 3 days.

Growling and overheating motor.

First I had to replace the motor, however, as an ex professional Repair Technician, I happen to know that quite often, it is very difficult (if not impossible) to get the blower wheel off of the motor shaft. Especially since the models that use these blower wheels are quite old now (still good though). When this happens, the blower wheel must be chiseled apart to get the motor out. That said, I had to do this and after replacing the motor, it is very easy to spin the new blower wheel on to the motor. I would suggest to anyone changing the motor, to order the blower wheel as well since you may likely need it and won't have your dryer inoperative while ordering more parts.

Broken blower fan in maytag dryer

Used APP to id part. Ordered. Came fedx next morning. Me and youtube installed the fan. My kitchen laundry is back up and running! I am just an average guy so getting the right part so quickly made the repair go smoothly!
