9% of the time Dryer Repair Kit (most 29 Inch Large Capacity Models)

Dryer was squeaking very badly!

I disassembled the dryer, cleaned all the lint out(it was everywhere and I'm surprised it had not caught on fire), sprayed lubricant on the idler pulley and the rollers. Then I put everything back together and used the dryer. It was quiet but, short lived. I bought the "Dryer Repair Kit" from AppliancePartsPros. It had a new belt and idler /tension pulley that I may not have needed but, I thought, "if I'm taking it apart again, I'm replacing everything!" I followed the video instructions and the dryer is now like new. The plastic retaining clips (4) for the rollers were much more difficult to remove and replace than shown in the video. Other than that, everything went EZ PZ. My wife came home at the end of the job and helped me by holding the drum in place while installed the front of the dryer. I don't know if I could have done it alone. I know we saved a bunch by doing ourselves AND.....the parts came in less than 24 hours. I could not have scheduled a repairman in that time.

Broken drive belt

Ordered your repair kit based on my model number. It arrived 2 days later, unfortunately it was short 4 nylon and one metal retainers. I called and was apologized to. The CSR quickly found my order and said a new parts kit would go out to me the same day. I was only looking for the missing parts but was politely told that if a customer has an issue she is there to take care of it. REMARKABLE! The new kit arrived in two days with all the parts and the problem is solved. Incredible service in this "to bad for you society". The video of the repair I was performing was very helpful. I'm very pleased.

Not heating

I ordered the heater element in my Whirlpool Estates dryer, watched the video and had it changed in no time. I also replaced the belt assembly. Appliance Parts Pros delivered!

Dryer making noise

Getting the dryer repair did the trick. Now I have a old dryer that sounds like new. A special to the person who took my order, she suggested the kit for me. Plus the parts were less expensive than from another source.

Dryer was making a lot of noise

Drum support rollers - actually the dryer repair kit came complete with the lock washers support wheels pulley and belt.

8% of the time Idler Pulley

Dryer was squeaking during operation.

I purchased a dryer rebuild kit and an idler pully as the pully in the rebuild kit was not the same type as in my dryer.

Squeaking while running

I replaced the idler pulley wheel assembly, and it works fine now. I had purchased a repair kit from another supplier, but the idler pulley assembly was too tight on the belt. --Yes, I assembled it correctly-- The drum wouldn't turn. I sent away for this idler pulley which replaced the original assembly. The drum turns, and the squeaking is eliminated..

Dryer was missing idler pulley.

I was able to find the Idler pulley here on AppliancePartsPros.com, for my dryer. Install took literally 5 minutes and dryer works as it should.

Dryer made a loud squeaking noise when you turned it on

I googled the problem and narrowed it down to drum support which are the wheels it sits on and idler pulley which puts tension on the belt. The bearings had gone out on it

Broken dryer belt.

Looked on internet for parts, but the general model number corresponded to many different belts and I could not figure it out. Your phone person taught me how to find the exact model number on the door of the dryer and identified the proper belt. In addition, research showed that the friction based idler pulley on my model was the cause of failure, so I got the replacement idler pulley from you using the correct model number. There were a couple of videos, especially FixIt, that showed all the steps to fix it. Actual time working on the dryer was less than an hour. The videos were awesome.

The Idler Pulley is an OEM part for Whirlpool dryers, responsible for maintaining the correct tension on the drive belt, allowing it to remain tight and aligned, preventing slipping and contributing to the consistent rotation of the drum during cycles.

Symptoms of a bad Idler Pulley include:

  • Squealing or squeaking noises
  • The dryer drum failing to turn
  • Excessive vibration or unusual sounds

Causes of failure can range from normal wear and tear, which can lead to the pulley's bearing wearing out, to the accumulation of lint and debris causing the pulley to seize or function improperly. Additionally, a cracked or damaged pulley can lead to belt misalignment and slippage.

Replacing a faulty or worn-out Idler Pulley prevents damage to the dryer's motor and drum and also ensures your clothes are dried efficiently. This OEM Whirlpool part can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.

Fits all Whirlpool-made dryers (Whirlpool, Kenmore with prefix 110, Roper, KitchenAid, and Estate). Matching belt 341241 and rear support rollers 349241T. Whirlpool dryer repair manual 677818L.

4% of the time Dryer Repair Kit (27 Inch Wide Dryers, Thin Twins)

Dryer making a squeaking noise

Appliances Parts Pros checked for my problem and sold me on the parts to replace, ordered parts, installed, dryer works like a charm. Thank you Appliance Parts Pros Another satisfied customer Pete B.

Faulty idler pulley.

Used this kit to replace the pulley and the other parts since I had it apart. Great video instructions made it easy!

Dryer very noisy, a bushing came loose from one of the rear support rollers

I bought a rebuild kit to replace all 4 support rollers, the idler pulley and the belt. All parts were direct replacements for the originals except the belt. The belt was smaller than the original. I tried for quite a while to get it on but had to put the original back on. It was still in good shape anyway. Dryer runs quiet and smooth. By doing it myself I probably saved myself 150.00 dollars easily.

Dryer was making a grating noise

Ordered the parts from appliance parts pros and they were delivered promptly. I am a total novice but was able to disassemble dryer and determine and correct source of problem!

Dryer squealed loudly after a short time running.

Ultimately found the tensioner wheel was not turning freely. Originally assumed it was a worn belt but decided to order the belt and wheel kit. Searched YouTube for how to videos to get an idea on how difficult the repair would be. Found a video that was very similar to my unit. It took about 90 minutes to disassemble, replace parts and re assemble. Because the kit comes with new retainer clips, it is faster and easier to just cut the old clips off with some side cutters. Also have the vacuum ready as the unit will be full of lint that should be removed while you have the unit opened up.

Dryer rollers squeaking

I purchased a dryer repair kit that had the rollers, roller keepers and drum belt. I followed some YouTube instruction videos on how to make the repair and everything worked just fine. No more squeak. The best part was my one day delivery service of my parts kit. No issues and I received my parts just fine.

Thermal fuse.

Thanks to your video tested the fuse and ordered replaced myself and saved an $80 house call plus more labor to install very pleased with the results Thanks, Cindy

Dryer wouldn't start

After a couple hours of internet searches, I deducted that it had to be one of four parts. However with the parts i needed, if I replaced one , wisdom was to replace all four of them. So I ordered my parts form the dealer except for the Thermal fuse because they were out of stock. I stumbled across AppliancePartsPros.com accidentally. I will say that one the part was very affordable. Secondly, It arrived before the manufacturer's parts I ordered the day before. The repair was very easy and literally took no more than 15 minutes. I would recommend AppliancePartsPros.com to anyone that wants to save themselves the high cost of having a repair person come out. The parts are quality, the shipping is fast, and the website is easy to use.

Clothes dryer was running with no heat

Looked up the most common causes online. Used a multimeter tool to check the circuits and found the thermal fuse was blown. Ordered the part from Appliance parts Pros. It was cheaper and arrived faster than the company who makes the dryer. 5 minute job, will order another fuse to have on hand.

less than 1% of the time Rear Drum Support Roller Kit

Dryer was making a lot of noise when turned on annoying thump thump thump.

I searched online and got to appliancepartspros.com I read some of the problems they had and determined that it was a roller problem. I watched the video on how to fix it, so I opened it up, took it apart and found the bad roller. The video was right on. I immediately ordered the parts I needed and it came in the mail the next day. Amazing!!!! I re-watched the video and put in the new rollers and put the dryer back together. Plugged it in, turned it on and it worked like a charm. No more noise. The only problem I had was the shipping cost almost as the part. The part was cheaper than other sites and it did ship in one day. So I am happy on the outcome despite the outrageous shipping.

Bearing Ring for Front Support

Bearing ring broke in half.

Replaced the Bearing Ring. It was easier than I thought. Thanks to YouTube the repair video took less than 2 minutes. Now the noise is gone.

Electric clothes dryer front bearing ring

Your video was very helpful. It only took a few minutes to install the bearing. Although, my dryer is a Kenmore, it is essentially the same as a Whirlpool.

My dryer was making unholy noises screeching and growling at start up thumbing and bumping during the dry cycle.

I went to my old standby at AppliancePartsPros.com for answers. Immediately finding the screeching noise was the idler. I ordered a new belt and idler and drum wheels. The order was placed and the parts arrived magically the next day... NO KIDDING the next day. I digress, upon the parts arrival I discovered I had neglected the purchase of the front Bearing Ring for Front Support and called my buddies at APP. They took my order for the bearing ring and again like magic, the part arrived at my door. I followed the video instructions and within 45 minutes, my dryer was up and running as if it had undergone an exorcism. No more howling, thumping, bumping, and unholy screeching. Thank you AppliancePartsPros.com You just saved me about $300.00 buck.

  • Difficulty in rotating the drum manually.
  • Visible damage or wear on the bearing ring.

Motor Pulley

Belt drive and belt broke

The belt and belt drive snapped in our old Maytag dryer. Our appliance repair people did not have an appointment available for at least two weeks. They recommended your company for the parts and accompanying videos and that is what we did. With the help of your excellent parts identifying system and very helpful live customer chat every thing we needed was ordered. The correct parts arrived promptly and the repairs were done in 20 minutes. Impressive inventory, excellent customer support if needed.

Belt of dryer needed to be replace along with motor pulley

Removed broken motor pulley and replaced dryer belt by following steps shown on appliance pros videos.

Motor pulley and drum belt were broken.

Replaced the belt. Could not get the pulley off. I will have to use heat to be able to remove the pulley.

The motor pulley split down the groove of the pulley

A friend told me about your website, and that if I needed older parts that you were the best place to find them. So I got on your site, and realized right away that I hadn't gotten model numbers. So I went and recorded all the info on the Dryer. By the way the picture showing where I might find these numbers was a great help. Then all I had todo was put the model number with a brief description. It took me right to the part. If I hadn't had to go back and look up model number. It would have taken 10 minutes or less. The part was shipped that day & arrived the next day. So now we are up and running again. I am very impressed with the total experience!!! From now on you are my go to people when I need parts. I will & already have told my friends. Thanks for a job well done!! Especially these days. It is really hard to find good, reliable & honest people and companies. I was born in the 50's and the work ethic & pride of people these days for the most part doesn't exsist. So thanks again!!!!!

The dryer drum wasn't spinning

I took apart the cabinet, removed the drum, removed the clip that covers the back part of the motor. Held the shaft with an adjustable wrench and grabbed the broken pulley with a channel lock. Installed the new pulley. Put the clip back on the back of the motor. Re-threaded the belt around the drum, the tensioner, and the pulley. Put the cabinet back together. And it worked!

The Motor Pulley is an OEM part for Whirlpool dryers, connects the dryer motor to the drum belt, enabling the drum to turn and efficiently dry your clothes. This pulley is crucial for the smooth operation of the dryer, ensuring that the belt is tensioned correctly and runs smoothly without slipping or causing wear.

Causes of a bad Motor Pulley include wear and tear from regular use, a buildup of lint and debris that can interfere with its operation, or a malfunctioning dryer motor that puts undue stress on the pulley.

Symptoms of a bad Motor Pulley include:

  • Unusual noises coming from the dryer, such as squeaking or grinding
  • The dryer drum failing to turn even though the motor is running
  • The dryer taking longer than normal to dry clothes, which can occur if the pulley is not providing proper tension to the belt

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Blower Wheel

Dryer fan blower wheel broke loose from motor shaft making loud noise and preventing the dryer from drying properly

Replaced the fan. It required the complete dismantling of the dryer, but it wasn't difficult and the repair went well. (Watched a video on You Tube). But it took a little too long to get the part (8 days).

Fan broke on dryer.

Took the entire dryer apart and watched a video on how to do it.. Took us about 25 mins and the dryer works like new. So happy!!!!

The blower wheel was broken

I watched a repair video on how to replace the wheel. There was a link provided to order the replacement part. It was shipped and arrived in 3 days.

Growling and overheating motor.

First I had to replace the motor, however, as an ex professional Repair Technician, I happen to know that quite often, it is very difficult (if not impossible) to get the blower wheel off of the motor shaft. Especially since the models that use these blower wheels are quite old now (still good though). When this happens, the blower wheel must be chiseled apart to get the motor out. That said, I had to do this and after replacing the motor, it is very easy to spin the new blower wheel on to the motor. I would suggest to anyone changing the motor, to order the blower wheel as well since you may likely need it and won't have your dryer inoperative while ordering more parts.

Drum Support Wheel Retainer

Clothes not drying.

Cleaned whole thing out and broke 3 plastic clips for drum support. Other sites had similar prices but AppliancePartsPros.com guarantied to ship same day. I couldn't believe when I got my parts the Next Day and had my dryer back in service all clean and working great. I did pay for 2nd day air but WOW that was quick. Great Service, Thank You!

Whirlpool duet electric dryer squeaking rattling and burn marks on clothes

I'm not a mechanic and have never repaired a dryer in my life. I replaced drum belt, drum felt seal and drum support roller and triangle rings. I'm not really sure how my dryer was even functioning with daily use given what had broken down inside. I Referred to AppliancePartsPros.com videos and website to determine how to take apart and reassemble my dryer. Step by step instructions allowed me to do this project myself. The schematics provided on the website for my dryer model with numbered parts, made it easy to identify what was needed from the corresponding numbered part list. Also, to be sure the part worked for my specific dryer model, the website provides a cross check to reference their data so I could be sure I was ordering just the right part.

The Drum Support Wheel Retainer is an OEM part for Whirlpool dryers. This part secures the drum support wheels in place, ensuring that the dryer drum rotates smoothly and quietly during operation. The retainer is designed to fit precisely, preventing the support wheels from loosening or wobbling, which can lead to inefficient drying and increased wear on other components.

Over time, retainers can wear out or become damaged, potentially leading to a loose drum support wheel. This can cause the dryer to operate noisily, vibrate excessively, or even damage the drum itself if not addressed promptly.

Symptoms of a bad Drum Support Wheel Retainer include:

  • Unusual noises, such as squeaking or thumping, coming from the dryer
  • Excessive vibration during operation
  • The dryer drum may feel unstable or wobble when turned by hand

This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper and some Kenmore models.

Thermistor

Ordered thermister after watching YouTube video. Part arrived in just 2 days. Repair went just as depicted on video. Easy fix. Hoping it corrects the problem.

No heat

Had a power failure when dryer was being used. Dryer was still running but not heating. Used a multimeter to discover that there was no continuity in this part. Ordered the part and received it within 48hrs. Took less than 2 min to replace the part. Praise the Lord, it now works like a charm!

My Cabrio dryer was not getting hot to dry clothes

Per Assistance from AppliancePartsPros I was able to get the Thermister part now my Dryer works great!

No heat with clothes dryer

I watched a couple of YouTube videos on what to do when your dryer won't heat, I then went online to AppliancePartsPros.com, Ordered the parts, installed them, it worked and now I am a hero in my Wife's eyes. Feels great. The service and support I received from AppliancePartsPros.com was absolutely outstanding! Best online experience ever. I can't wait for another appliance to fail and I get to be a hero again (not really). Thanks.

Cycle finished before drying or dryer got too hot!

Replaced the thermistor. Actual time taken was more related to getting bolts back in than anything else. Actual repair was easy with right tools and the how-to videos are outstanding. I am not the handiest person but, with the help of Appliancepartspros.com, I have now fixed both my washer and dryer myself at a much lower cost than calling back the authorized repair guy (who couldn’t fix it for me last time!). I paid less for parts than the cost of a service call. Love this site.

The Thermistor is an OEM part for Whirlpool brand dryers. It is a temperature-sensing resistor that monitors air temperature changes during the drying cycle. The thermistor provides feedback to the control board on heating element performance and internal air condition.

Symptoms of a failed thermistor include:

  • Inaccurate temperature readings and selections
  • Improper or incomplete drying
  • Safety issues from overheating due to lack of feedback
  • Error codes displayed on the control panel

Causes can be related to normal wear and environmental exposure over time. Failure prevents the dryer from achieving optimal drying conditions.

This genuine Whirlpool thermistor replacement restores precise air temperature monitoring. It ensures the control board receives accurate input to effectively regulate heating levels. This OEM Whirlpool part can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.
