17% of the time Dryer Repair Kit (27 Inch Wide Dryers, Thin Twins)

Dryer making a squeaking noise

Appliances Parts Pros checked for my problem and sold me on the parts to replace, ordered parts, installed, dryer works like a charm. Thank you Appliance Parts Pros Another satisfied customer Pete B.

Faulty idler pulley.

Used this kit to replace the pulley and the other parts since I had it apart. Great video instructions made it easy!

Dryer very noisy, a bushing came loose from one of the rear support rollers

I bought a rebuild kit to replace all 4 support rollers, the idler pulley and the belt. All parts were direct replacements for the originals except the belt. The belt was smaller than the original. I tried for quite a while to get it on but had to put the original back on. It was still in good shape anyway. Dryer runs quiet and smooth. By doing it myself I probably saved myself 150.00 dollars easily.

Dryer was making a grating noise

Ordered the parts from appliance parts pros and they were delivered promptly. I am a total novice but was able to disassemble dryer and determine and correct source of problem!

Dryer squealed loudly after a short time running.

Ultimately found the tensioner wheel was not turning freely. Originally assumed it was a worn belt but decided to order the belt and wheel kit. Searched YouTube for how to videos to get an idea on how difficult the repair would be. Found a video that was very similar to my unit. It took about 90 minutes to disassemble, replace parts and re assemble. Because the kit comes with new retainer clips, it is faster and easier to just cut the old clips off with some side cutters. Also have the vacuum ready as the unit will be full of lint that should be removed while you have the unit opened up.

Dryer rollers squeaking

I purchased a dryer repair kit that had the rollers, roller keepers and drum belt. I followed some YouTube instruction videos on how to make the repair and everything worked just fine. No more squeak. The best part was my one day delivery service of my parts kit. No issues and I received my parts just fine.

The Dryer Repair Kit is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool dryers, designed to address common wear and repair issues. This kit ensures that the drum rotates freely and quietly.

Symptoms of a dryer in need of this repair kit include:

  • Unusual noises, such as squeaking or thumping
  • The dryer drum not turning smoothly or at all
  • Extended drying times

Causes of these issues can range from normal wear and tear, which gradually degrades the rollers, belt, and pulley, to overloading the dryer, which can accelerate the wear on these components and lead to premature failure. Regular maintenance and timely replacement of these parts can prevent more serious problems and extend the life of the dryer.

What's Included:

  • Drum belt 661570V
  • 4 drum support rollers WPW10314173
  • Idler pulley 279640
  • Tri rings WPW10512946
  • Washer WP233520

8% of the time Drum Support Roller

The drum rollers needed to be changed

Your video on how to replace the drum roller was very helpful. Getting a part and a video on how to replace the part was an excellent service. I had no idea how to take the dryer apart. I’m very pleased

Drum support roller malfunctioned

Very simple repair. Remove the back of the dryer, removed old support roller and replaced it with a new roller provided by appliancepartspros.com. Took about 30 minutes and now the dryer works perfectly. Thank you appliancepartspros.com!

Dryer drum making a swishing noise.

Our Whirlpool dryer drum started making a swishing noise which I could reproduce by manually rotating the drum. I found an exploded parts diagram and determined that this was either the roller(s) or the belt and via a video I was able to figure out how to open the front of my dryer to diagnose this problem. Sure enough I found a bunch of small rubber shavings on the floor of the dryer and I ordered two drum support rollers. The rollers showed up on time and replacement was quick and easy! After I pulled the old rollers I was able to determine that the left roller had a more pointed edge profile than the new roller and there was a crack in the rubber around the central ring that connects the rubber on the roller to the roller (the middle). Right parts, right diagnosis, quiet dryer again. Always a good experience with AppliancePartsPros.com!

My Whirlpool duet dryer was clunking!

1. Searched the internet for causes. 2. Found AppliancePartsPros website and watched the video on how to fix the problem by replacing the 4 drum support roller. 3. Ordered the parts, which came the next day! 4. Played your video, pausing at each step, to follow the very clear directions. 5. My dryer works like new now - no more clunking. Not bad for a 65-year old lady!

Noisy

Watched your dryer video and found out through the video what was causing the noise problem, then ordered the parts from your company. Parts arrived next day. THANKS for making my life easier. You guys are great and have a great system. DON

This OEM Replacement Part is a drum support roller for dryers manufactured by Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Inglis, Maytag, and Crosley. This genuine Whirlpool part is sourced directly from the manufacturer and is sold individually. The drum support roller is responsible for securing the drum as it rotates and most dryers need two of them. It is essential to check and replace both drum support rollers to ensure proper drum rotation.

A faulty drum support roller can lead to loud squealing, squeaking, or thumping noises during dryer operation. It is recommended that this medium-difficulty repair be performed with caution. The power, gas, and vent lines should be disconnected before beginning. You may need pliers, a screwdriver, a nut driver, and a wrench to complete the replacement.

Note: This part includes the drum roller only. The tri-rings must be purchased separately.

4% of the time Drum Support Wheel Retainer

Clothes not drying.

Cleaned whole thing out and broke 3 plastic clips for drum support. Other sites had similar prices but AppliancePartsPros.com guarantied to ship same day. I couldn't believe when I got my parts the Next Day and had my dryer back in service all clean and working great. I did pay for 2nd day air but WOW that was quick. Great Service, Thank You!

Whirlpool duet electric dryer squeaking rattling and burn marks on clothes

I'm not a mechanic and have never repaired a dryer in my life. I replaced drum belt, drum felt seal and drum support roller and triangle rings. I'm not really sure how my dryer was even functioning with daily use given what had broken down inside. I Referred to AppliancePartsPros.com videos and website to determine how to take apart and reassemble my dryer. Step by step instructions allowed me to do this project myself. The schematics provided on the website for my dryer model with numbered parts, made it easy to identify what was needed from the corresponding numbered part list. Also, to be sure the part worked for my specific dryer model, the website provides a cross check to reference their data so I could be sure I was ordering just the right part.

The Drum Support Wheel Retainer is an OEM part for Whirlpool dryers. This part secures the drum support wheels in place, ensuring that the dryer drum rotates smoothly and quietly during operation. The retainer is designed to fit precisely, preventing the support wheels from loosening or wobbling, which can lead to inefficient drying and increased wear on other components.

Over time, retainers can wear out or become damaged, potentially leading to a loose drum support wheel. This can cause the dryer to operate noisily, vibrate excessively, or even damage the drum itself if not addressed promptly.

Symptoms of a bad Drum Support Wheel Retainer include:

  • Unusual noises, such as squeaking or thumping, coming from the dryer
  • Excessive vibration during operation
  • The dryer drum may feel unstable or wobble when turned by hand

This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper and some Kenmore models.

2% of the time Drum Support Shaft for Left Hand Threads

Excessive noise and squeaking from rear drum support roller.

Repair required removing the front and rear of the dryer. After removing the roller and seeing how bad it was, I checked the shaft. It was scored badly. I subsequently ordered the shaft. I replaced both rear support rollers because if one failed, the other was probably not far behind. Cleaned the front rollers while I had it apart. Vacuumed up all the metal shavings from the failed roller. Overall, pretty labor intensive. I think the shaft was way overpriced, but other sites had it selling for similar amounts.

Originally received the wrong (longer) drum support shaft.

I called back on a Saturday to explain to the agent just what happened. I was sent the correct Shaft (no shipping charge), which arrived in two days! I am to be credited for the incorrect shaft. With a new Drum Support Shaft and Roller installed my Whirlpool Duet Sport dryer is once again running quietly.

Our Kenmore dryer had a horrible high pitch noise coming from it.

Contacted AppliancePartsPros.com. Found out that the parts I ordered 9 months ago were on warranty and they replaced them for me. Installed the repair parts and once again the dryer is fixed. No high-pitched noise at all! Very satisfied with the service from this company. Would highly recommend them to anyone.

The Whirlpool drum roller axle is an OEM replacement part responsible for supporting and facilitating the rotation of the drum in the dryer. It is designed with left-hand threads, which means it turns counterclockwise to secure the rear drum roller in place. The drum roller axle serves as the pivot point for the rear drum roller, allowing the drum to rotate smoothly during the drying cycle. It plays a pivotal role in maintaining the stability and balance of the drum, ensuring that it spins evenly and without wobbling.

The Whirlpool drum support shaft can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.

This part fixes the following symptoms

  • Unusual noises during the drying cycle, such as squeaking, squealing, or thumping sounds
  • Excessive wear or damage to the rear drum roller
  • Clothes taking longer to dry than usual
  • The dryer vibrating excessively or shaking during operation

less than 1% of the time Drum Felt Seal

Dryer needed a new front drum gasket

Ordered the gasket with ease. It was delivered very quickly at a respectable price. The repair video was very informative and I completed the repair quick and easy. The dryer runs like new. Thank you.

I have a whirlpool duet washer and dryer and i was getting thin brown streaks (lines) on my clothes after they were put in the dryer there were very hard to remove

After doing a little research, it was found that the felt seals were the likely culprits, so I ordered a pair of felt seals. We watched the video and got to work. Of course since we are amateurs, it took us a bit longer to take the dryer apart and put it back together again, but it still didn't take all that long, and we saved buckets of money compared to what it would have cost if we would have had "professionals" fix it. We love AppliancePartsPros.com because they have saved us hundreds of dollars over the years. We have fixed both the washer and dryer, our dishwasher, and our refrigerator. We also love bragging about them because they have a video for every repair. It doesn't get any better! (These husband-and-wife projects are also a lot of fun!) Thanks guys! The McKnights Wisconsin

Burn brown marks on clothes

Watched your videos on line, ordered the felt replacements and completed the repair on a Sunday morning. The videos were exact and helpful.

Loosing heat on the dryer 10 years old

After replacing easily the felt bands, it was like a new machine. Just be sure to follow the instructions and you should not have any problems. Thanks for the video and others peoples inputs.

Seals worn out on drum

I do research on online and show how to do it . I done thru and start to taking parts of as top and front panel then l take out the cover of blower housing . Loose the belt and lift drum out and take old seal out . Clean with acetone while brush off the hard dry glued and wipes with clean rags all around . Let it dry few moments then put new seal in shape of drum and see if it fits . It fits good and do both sides too. Let it sit out for an hour before I put in back of the dryer and do put it together and check everything before it starts running . It runs good and no leak air out . While running . The Dryer Drum Felt Seal is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool electric dryers. Located inside the spinning dryer drum, it lines the perimeter and protects the interior surface from abrasions. This seal measures approximately 82 inches in length.

Symptoms of a bad dryer drum felt seal include:

  • Scratches or scuff marks visible on the inside of the drum
  • Visible wear patterns or thinning of the felt material
  • Premature rusting or corrosion of the steel drum
  • Chipped or delaminated areas exposing bare steel

Causes of failure can include normal wear from friction generated during high-speed spins. Mineral deposits and grit trapped between the seal and drum may accelerate wear over extended use as well.

This OEM part is also compatible with brands like Maytag, Amana and Kenmore.

This OEM Replacement Part is a leveling foot, designed for Whirlpool dryers or washer/dryer combinations. Each machine requires four of these feet. Leveling feet provide stability and balance during the drying process. This helps to minimize shaking or vibrating. If the dryer is excessively noisy or shakes excessively, this part may need to be replaced. The leveling foot is equipped with a locking nut, which should be tightly secured on each leg to prevent unscrewing.

Pliers are needed to tighten the legs and maintain optimal ground proximity, mitigating extra shaking or rocking. Each foot features a rubber bottom for added stability. The replacement process is relatively straightforward and requires only the use of pliers. This part, sourced directly from the manufacturer, is compatible with multiple brands including Kenmore, Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Amana, Roper, Crosley, and Inglis. Motor Pulley

Belt drive and belt broke

The belt and belt drive snapped in our old Maytag dryer. Our appliance repair people did not have an appointment available for at least two weeks. They recommended your company for the parts and accompanying videos and that is what we did. With the help of your excellent parts identifying system and very helpful live customer chat every thing we needed was ordered. The correct parts arrived promptly and the repairs were done in 20 minutes. Impressive inventory, excellent customer support if needed.

Belt of dryer needed to be replace along with motor pulley

Removed broken motor pulley and replaced dryer belt by following steps shown on appliance pros videos.

Motor pulley and drum belt were broken.

Replaced the belt. Could not get the pulley off. I will have to use heat to be able to remove the pulley.

The motor pulley split down the groove of the pulley

A friend told me about your website, and that if I needed older parts that you were the best place to find them. So I got on your site, and realized right away that I hadn't gotten model numbers. So I went and recorded all the info on the Dryer. By the way the picture showing where I might find these numbers was a great help. Then all I had todo was put the model number with a brief description. It took me right to the part. If I hadn't had to go back and look up model number. It would have taken 10 minutes or less. The part was shipped that day & arrived the next day. So now we are up and running again. I am very impressed with the total experience!!! From now on you are my go to people when I need parts. I will & already have told my friends. Thanks for a job well done!! Especially these days. It is really hard to find good, reliable & honest people and companies. I was born in the 50's and the work ethic & pride of people these days for the most part doesn't exsist. So thanks again!!!!!

The dryer drum wasn't spinning

I took apart the cabinet, removed the drum, removed the clip that covers the back part of the motor. Held the shaft with an adjustable wrench and grabbed the broken pulley with a channel lock. Installed the new pulley. Put the clip back on the back of the motor. Re-threaded the belt around the drum, the tensioner, and the pulley. Put the cabinet back together. And it worked!
