5% of the time Heating Element

Dryer heating element

I got on your website and saw it had a box( talk to a rep)...so i did.. the rep was very helpful with my parts order and help finding the ID plate on my dryer. After ordering the part I was told between 2 and 5 days..it was here in 2 days! After 15 minutes the dryer was up and running, and as they say happy wife happy life. Thanks again ,If I ever need any more parts or help online I will know where to go.

Electric dryer wasn't heating whirlpool ultimate care ii

One of the contributors to your website walked me through how to test for continuity on the various components of the heating can. After testing, the heating element failed and I immediately ordered a new one from your website. Your website had the lowest price for the heating element, and for a reasonable shipping charge, the party was delivered the following day. I installed the party but the dryer still didn't heat. I then did some additional reading online and found out that sometimes one of the 110 circuits would trip, resulting in the dryer starting up and the motor turning, but still not be able to get heat. I reset the 220 breaker and started the dryer up again, and to my absolute relief, the dryer heated up. I am very appreciative of this site. It has all the parts you could ever need, shows pictures and explanations for each part, and even comes with a how to video. The prices are the lowest, and the forums are the icing on a great big cake. By the way, I wanted to give a shout out to brobriffin. He was instrumental in walking me through this process, and we even began texting each other, where he gave additional guidance, as well as sending various videos and pics to help give me a visual of what he was explaining to me. All in all, appliancepartspros will be my go to website when I need appliance guidance. Thank you, Richard Lucey

Not drying clothes

Appliance shop tested all electronic parts and said they were all fine. I disagreed. I replaced thermostat, thermal fuse and finally the heating element. Then I cleaned out the coil-type dryer duct, and now it's as good as new. I plan to replace coil duct with metal later.

The Heating Element is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool dryers. This part is responsible for generating the heat necessary to dry clothes efficiently. The heating element works by electrically heating a coil or a wire to a high temperature when power is applied, radiating heat throughout the dryer drum to evaporate water from the clothes.

Causes for the heating element to fail can vary but often include overloading the dryer, which restricts airflow and can cause the element to overheat and burn out. Another common cause is age; over time, the constant heating and cooling can lead to metal fatigue and eventual failure of the element. Additionally, poor ventilation and lint buildup can cause the dryer to overheat, damaging the heating element.

Symptoms of a bad heating element include:

  • Taking a long time to dry clothes or not drying completely
  • No heat produced by the dryer during cycles
  • Tripped circuit breaker or blown fuse after drying

Note: has 2-5/16" male terminals.

This OEM Whirlpool part can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.

3% of the time Timer

Whirlpool dryer timer not working properly.

We ordered the new timer from APP.com for our 35-year-old Whirlpool dryer. The control timer was not working properly, shutting off during a cycle, not starting, etc. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Parts Pros had the correct part in stock, shipped it quickly and we received it a couple of days later. It was an original factory part and an exact match. The video you provided was simple, clear, and easy to follow. 8 screws and 20 minutes later, the new timer is in place and the dryer is working perfectly. Thank you AppliancePartsPros for helping us save $250 by not having to phone a service technician. I will always make you our first stop for any appliance parts we need in the future.

Dryer would not turn on

After reading other customer's problems I determined that the Timer was not working. I replaced the Timer and the dryer works great.

Would keep shutting off and would not cycle

I focused on what it was Not doing. Attention was given to the dial as I was slowly turning it to determine what was going on. It was determined the dial was no good. I checked online a few video's that had the same problem and it was this part. Very simple repair...unplug machine from power, remove the screws (4) with a 1/4" driver (or any other means of a 1/4" tool), then pull off dial from the front followed with removing the (2) 1/4" screws holding in place the dial from the back side. I removed one wire at a time and matched it against the new part. Put everything back in reverse order and then plugged machine back in outlet. Tested as needed. Wife is happy!

Dryer would not run

I bought a timer after reviewing online troubleshooting guide provided on website to determine the problem. Part arrived in 2 days after placing order and that was with standard shipping. I watched the timer install video which was very helpful and total install took about 15 minutes.

I had to hold the timer knob to get the dryer to work.

I thought it was a worn out timer. Timers are one of the things that are first to go. My dryer is over 10 years old. I called you folks, described the problem and the tech concurred it was the timer. I ordered one. It sorta worked. I looked inside the plastic knob. There is a metal sleeve inside it. I noticed that the plastic part that goes around the timer shaft was broken. Thus when I turn the knob the shaft does not always turn with it. I ordered a new knob. Put it on and now all is working fine. Maybe the old timer is still good and the broke knob was the only problem. My dryer is in a hard to get to place. I don't feel like pulling it out and dismantling it again. It works great now. I'll save the timer and maybe I'll test it in the future to see if it is OK. Hindsight is 20 20.

2% of the time Thermal Cut-Off Kit

Clothes dryer wasn t heating

Preface: I have never done anything like this before. My ten year old Whirlpool dryer (electric) ran perfectly except that it suddenly stopped heating. I went on youtube and your website, watched a few videos and thought to myself "I can probably do this." I ordered a thermal fuse via your instant chat feature which proved to be a mistake. As soon as it arrived I knew it didn't look like the part I needed so I called AppliancePartsPros.com and learned that the part I needed was actually called a thermal cut-off. It arrived in a couple of days and was installed in about ten minutes. I am happy to report that with your help the dryer in running like new. Thank you.

Dryer was working but there was no heat

2% of the time Door Latch Kit

Clothes dryer door latch failed.

I ordered the Latch Kit. It arrived within 2 days. I replaced the Latch and Striker within 5 minutes.

Broken clasp on the closure of the dryer pedestal.

On a Friday, I ordered the replacement part, which was easy to find on the appliance Parts Pros website. It came the very next day!

Dryer latch (female end) was missing.

I watched the video on the appliancepartspros.com that showed how to fix the latch. I then went and snapped in the clip (that came in the kit) into the dryer door. Ran the dryer the door stayed shut. Dryer fixed!!!

Door would open while dryer was on.

I looked up the problem on YouTube and saw that it was a simple fix. I went to Google Search for the part and appliancepartpros.com come up, I clicked. Their site is so convenient. less than 1% of the time Hi-Limit Thermostat

My dryer was blowing cool air and not hot to dry my clothes

I went online and saw a video from AppliancePartsPros.com. The gentlemen showed me exactly what I needed to fix my dryer and exactly how to repair it. His directions were so easy to follow. I ordered the parts from AppliancePartsPros website and installed them and my dryer is working better than before. I only spent $91.00 to repair instead of purchasing a new dryer for $699.00. Thank you so much for saving me over $600.00.

Dryer not heating up.

After finding out vent was plugged. Cleaned vent & still no heat, I replaced the hi-limit thermostat because the heating element would come on for a few seconds & shut off not geting up to temp to dry. Seems okay now.

Dryer overheating

Learned it was the Hi-limit thermostat and order one. Absolutely no sweat taking the old one out and putting the new one in. Watch their videos. Nothing to it.

The dryer would not heat.

After watching a video on Youtube, I used a multimeter to test continuity in each of the thermostats. The hi-limit thermostat failed. I ordered the part late one evening with overnight shipping. The part shipped the next day and arrived on time. It took just a few minutes to install the part and start drying clothes again. AppliancePartsPros.com is an EXCELLENT source for parts!

Dyer works but not heating.

Troubleshooting resulted in one of the thermostat ( the high limit) being open. Priced the item at local sources, and the prices were all at least double that of Applianceparts.com Ordered the part, it arrived a couple of day before the scheduled date. Tested the part before installation. Now the machine works as it should. Thanks for being available to assist and especially with lower prices.
